New Beam Position Detectors for NA61/SHINE experiment

نویسندگان

چکیده

The NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN SPS is undergoing a major upgrade during Long Shutdown 2 period (2019-2021). essential to fulfill requirements of new open charm and neutrino programs. In these programs will operate with data acquisition rate increased by factor 10, which requires an current Beam Position Detectors (BPDs). New detectors should monitor beam particle positions frequency up 10 5 Hz. This paper presents overview BPD design, as well discusses state development prototype production BPD, including: mechanical front-end electronics design integration experiment’s aquisition system.

TOPOS: A new Tool for Beam Position Measurements at SIS18

The new Tune, Orbit and Position Measurement System for the SIS18, called TOPOS, is a replacement for the present POSI BPM System. Currently TOPOS is installed in parallel and uses the same analogue amplification chain as POSI. TOPOS consists of 12 Libera Hadron units [1] for front-end processing. The Libera stations sample the four analog plate signals of a BPM pick-up with four 14 Bit ADCs at...

A new Signal Treatment for SIS18 Beam Position Monitors

Within the FAIR SIS18 upgrade the data acquisition hardware as well as the concept for signal treatment of the Beam Position Monitoring system (BPM) were renovated. The former BPM system was based on the analog narrowband signal processing (see [1]). Since any information concerning an individual bunch is lost, observation in the turn-by-turn scale as well as tune measurement is impossible. Hen...

New Beam Position Monitor System Design for the APS Injector*

Demands on the APS injector have evolved over the last few years to the point that an upgrade to the existing beam position monitor (BPM) electronics is required. The injector is presently being used as a source for both the low-energy undulator test line (LEUTL) project and the top-up mode of operation. These new requirements and the fact that many new rf receiver components are available at r...

GluedCaWO4 Detectors for the CRESST-II Experiment

The Cryogenic Rare Event Search with Superconducting Thermometers Phase II (CRESST-II) at the L.N.G.S in Italy is searching for Dark Matter using low-temperature calorimeters. These detectors allow to discriminate di erent particles by simultaneous measurement of phonons and scintillation light. The sensors used consist of superconducting tungsten thinlm thermometers, which measure the thermal ...

Diamond Detectors as Beam Monitors

CVD diamond particle detectors are already in use in the CERN experiments ATLAS, CMS, LHCb and ALICE and at various particle accelerator laboratories in USA and Japan. This is a proven technology with high radiation tolerance and very fast signal read-out [1]. It can be used for measuring single-particles as well as for high-intensity particle cascades, for timing measurements on the nanosecond...
